DJI Mic Mini 2S Adds Internal Recording Without Increasing Size
DJI has released the Mic Mini 2S, a new microphone with built-in recording, upgraded AI noise canceling, and support for up to four transmitters. However, the product is not yet available in the US, leaving American buyers without an official release date or price.

DJI has expanded its audio lineup with the Mic Mini 2S, a new microphone that offers a range of features aimed at improving audio quality for creators.
The Mic Mini 2S comes with 32-bit float internal recording, allowing for greater flexibility when dealing with sudden changes in volume. This is particularly useful for creators shooting in unpredictable environments where there isn't always time to carefully set audio levels.
The microphone also features two levels of AI noise canceling: Basic, designed to reduce indoor background noise, and Strong mode, aimed at noisier outdoor environments. Additionally, the Mic Mini 2S includes automatic tools such as Clipping Control to tame sudden volume spikes and Loudness Balance to adjust levels and keep voices consistent.
The microphone also allows creators to choose between Regular, Bright, and Rich voice profiles.
The Mic Mini 2S can connect up to four transmitters to a single receiver, making it more suitable for podcasts, group interviews, and roundtable discussions. It can also work with existing DJI Mic Mini and Mic Mini 2 transmitters, allowing users to build a larger setup without replacing everything.
The transmitter itself weighs about 12 grams and can be attached using either a clip or magnet.

For US creators, the most important detail may be what DJI hasn't said: the company has launched the Mic Mini 2S in multiple international markets, but there is still no official US product listing, US price, or availability date. This means American buyers looking for DJI audio gear right now may want to stick with the models already available rather than trying to import the newest one.
There are still plenty of options available, including the original DJI Mic Mini, Mic 2, and DJI Mic 3, each with its own set of features and price points.
The Mic Mini 2S is an interesting upgrade, particularly for anyone who has ever lost a great take because of bad audio levels. However, for US buyers, the bigger question isn't what the new microphone can do, but when, or whether, DJI will officially bring it to the US.
