Infinit Drones has introduced the Dock M400, an autonomous docking platform for the DJI Matrice 400. Developed with SB Innovation, the system allows operators to remotely launch, recover, recharge, or automatically swap batteries and redeploy the aircraft without sending personnel into the field.
This launch addresses a significant trade-off in commercial drone operations. Organizations have typically had to choose between a drone's payload power and its ability to operate autonomously from a dock. The new product aims to combine both.

The DJI Matrice 400 is a flagship enterprise drone introduced in 2025. It is designed for demanding industrial applications like public safety, utility inspections, and infrastructure mapping. Until now, deploying it generally required a crew on location.

Dock M400 Capabilities and Features
The Dock M400 comes in two versions. One provides automatic charging, while the other can automatically replace depleted batteries in about two minutes. The dock can store up to four Matrice 400 batteries.
It supports the M400's full range of payloads, including thermal imaging, LiDAR, and high-resolution mapping cameras. The system is designed for continuous, mission-ready operation. For organizations managing large-scale operations, integrating data from such systems with broader stats can provide a complete operational picture.
Other features include dock-to-dock relay missions for extended range, fixed or vehicle-mounted installation options, and cloud or private-network connectivity with integrated 4G/5G support. The dock also incorporates edge computing, RTK positioning, environmental monitoring, and is housed in an IP55-rated enclosure rated for temperatures from -20°C to 50°C.

Infinit Drones is targeting industries where rapid aerial data can save time and money. The company lists electric utilities, oil and gas companies, mining operations, railways, ports, pipeline operators, and various public safety agencies as key customers. For sectors like utilities, which must manage extensive physical fixtures, such autonomous inspection can be transformative.
A practical example involves storm response. A power utility could automatically dispatch a dock-based Matrice 400 equipped with thermal or LiDAR sensors to inspect storm-damaged infrastructure. This could allow the utility to assess damage before deciding whether to dispatch repair crews, potentially reducing unnecessary deployments.
According to Infinit Drones CEO Pedram Nowroozi, customers have specifically requested a way to pair the Matrice 400's payload capacity with fully autonomous deployment. The goal is to eliminate the need for a flight team for every mission.

Furthermore, Canada's evolving regulations for certain lower-risk beyond visual line of sight (BVLOS) operations are creating more opportunities for remote drone deployments.
