Omnisys, an Ondas Inc. Company, has launched the BRO-API. This new bidirectional integration layer connects the company's BRO Battle Resource Optimization platform directly to existing command-and-control (C2) and command, control, communications, computers, and intelligence (C4I) systems. According to the company, the capability is designed to use live battlefield information to continuously update operational plans, slashing command decision cycles from hours down to minutes or less.

The new interface transforms BRO from a standalone mission-planning tool into an integrated operational component. It exchanges information with command-and-control systems throughout the entire duration of a mission.

BRO-API Connects Optimization to C2 Systems

The BRO platform uses situational awareness data from C4I systems. It provides commanders with tools for evaluating and optimizing their operational plans. Omnisys states the platform supports situational understanding, evaluation of operational alternatives, and optimization for sensor and effector deployment. It also generates optimized Courses of Action.

With the BRO-API, these capabilities maintain a live connection to existing C2 systems during an active mission. Omnisys said the integration specifically supports the Decision and Act phases of the OODA loop by enabling a continuous exchange of operational information.

Live Data Fuels Continuous Re-Planning

The BRO-API continuously receives updated operational information from the systems to which it is connected. This incoming data can include Blue Force deployment and readiness status, operational events, and Red Force information.

The system processes this live data to generate optimized recommendations. These can cover areas like deployment, routing, and frequency allocation. The resulting mission re-planning data and operational insights are then fed directly back into the command-and-control system. This synchronization allows operational plans to be continuously adjusted as conditions on the battlefield change.

Designed for Secure Defense Networks

The Omnisys BRO-API is engineered for operational defense environments. This includes classified and disconnected networks. The system supports controlled permissions and secure message logging. It uses a standard RESTful integration approach and is built on defense interoperability principles.

The company also stated the interface is designed to support future compatibility with both NATO and U.S. Military standards.

Supporting the Full Mission Lifecycle

BRO-API is built to maintain information across the complete lifecycle of an operational mission. Its support is not limited to active execution. According to Omnisys, the platform aids in After-Action Review, capturing lessons learned, and enabling continuous mission improvement. It covers mission planning, execution, and operational re-planning.

“BRO has always enabled commanders to optimize their plans before the mission begins,” said Alfred (Fredi) Tzimet, Deputy CEO of Omnisys. “BRO-API is the next step in that evolution, extending those capabilities throughout mission execution so commanders can continuously optimize operations as the battlefield evolves.”

BRO Systems in Multi-Domain Operations

The broader BRO suite is already operational and combat-proven with the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF). Omnisys also reports it is under contract with several NATO customers in Europe. The company said its mission optimization systems support a range of defense and homeland security missions.

These missions include air defense, air surveillance, and counter-UAS or counter-drone operations. The systems also support electronic warfare, intelligence gathering, spectrum management, and border security. BRO is designed to support end-to-end planning, management, and debriefing for multi-mission, multi-domain operations across land, sea, and air domains.
