Airspace: ABZ Innovation has opened a large new drone manufacturing facility in Hungary, aiming to triple its 2026 output

ABZ Innovation has officially opened a new drone manufacturing facility in Szentendre, Hungary. The company states the site is one of the largest dedicated civilian drone production plants in Europe.

The expansion comes amid rising demand for drones in commercial sectors. The new facility is roughly four times larger than the company's previous production site. ABZ Innovation is targeting a threefold increase in production during 2026, with plans to double output again in 2027.

Product Lineup and Applications

The company's systems are deployed in over 40 countries. Its product range is organized into four main families, each designed for specific heavy-duty tasks.

Agriculture remains a core market. ABZ Innovation claims its L-Series drones can reduce water usage by up to 90% and chemical inputs by up to 50% compared to conventional spraying methods. The technology allows for precise application, potentially conserving resources.

Industrial Cleaning Drives Growth

Industrial cleaning is becoming a significant growth area. The company reports that its C-Series is currently its fastest-growing product line. Industrial operators are increasingly adopting drones as an alternative to slower, more labor-intensive cleaning methods.

The Hungarian site is positioned as a global production hub, not only an assembly plant. ABZ Innovation emphasizes European manufacturing, data sovereignty, and after-sales support. The company argues that training, spare parts, and service infrastructure are critical for professional operators running routine commercial flights.

We are building not just drones, but a European platform designed for mission-critical civilian operations, with full data sovereignty and the after-sales infrastructure that professional users need to operate at scale, said Károly Ludvigh, CEO and cofounder of ABZ Innovation.

Certifications and Funding

The company's drones carry CE certification and FCC compliance. Its M-Series and C-Series have obtained EU C4 and C5 certifications, respectively. ABZ Innovation also operates under an ISO 9001-certified quality management system.

ABZ Innovation has received industry awards for specific models, including the L50 agricultural sprayer and the C10 industrial cleaner. Its L30 LiDAR technology was recognized at Hungary’s Innovation Grand Prize.

The manufacturing expansion follows a €7 million investment round completed in January 2026. Vsquared Ventures, Day One Capital, and Assembly Ventures participated. Part of the funding was allocated for this manufacturing expansion and international market development. With the new plant open, the company is focusing on the infrastructure needed to deploy commercial drones at scale.
