ORIGIN and Anduril Sign MoU for Counter-Drone Integration

ORIGIN and Anduril have signed a memorandum of understanding to collaborate on counter-drone technology integration. The agreement focuses on linking ORIGIN’s BLAZE autonomous interceptor with Anduril’s Lattice command and control platform.

Technology integration goals

The MoU focuses on integrating ORIGIN’s BLAZE autonomous interceptor with Anduril’s Lattice platform to enhance layered air defense. Under the agreement, the companies will explore how BLAZE connects into Lattice alongside deployed radars and other sensors.

Lattice combines information from different sensors and systems. BLAZE uses radar data to fly toward a target before acquiring, tracking, and intercepting it under operator supervision. The memorandum covers demonstrations, validation, data sharing, and assessments of counter-drone performance.

Operational concept and validation

The partnership will develop a concept of operations, conduct demonstrations, and assess mission effectiveness for counter-UAS scenarios. The collaboration aims to provide interceptors that operate as part of a wider defense infrastructure rather than in isolation.

The companies will work on concept of operations development, data sharing, and mission-effectiveness assessment for counter-UAS profiles. This process calls for developing a concept of operations for using BLAZE alongside deployed radars and other sensors connected through Lattice.

Strategic context and leadership statements

The agreement emerged from a Latvian trade mission and shows the need for connected air defense on NATO’s eastern flank. The MoU was signed as an outcome of a Latvian business trade mission in the United States.

The Latvian business trade mission took place during the official visit of the President of Latvia, Edgars Rinkēvičs, to the United States. The mission was organised by the Investment and Development Agency of Latvia (LIAA). ORIGIN states that BLAZE is the first NATO-codified autonomous interceptor drone.

Martins Marenis, the Commercial Director of ORIGIN, said the integration means allied forces gain better visibility and faster response. "We are here to work alongside industry leaders and innovators to build C-UAS systems that genuinely help empower NATO allies," Marenis stated.

Ieva Jāgere, the director of the Investment and Development Agency of Latvia, highlighted the deal's significance. "The cooperation memorandum between ORIGIN and Anduril is a significant outcome of this trade mission," Jāgere said. She noted that ORIGIN arrived with defense technologies developed in Latvia and a clear proposal for cooperation.
