DJI launches $10,000 Avata 360 video contest
DJI has launched the #AllForPassion Challenge, a video contest offering a $10,000 grand prize for the best sports and adventure footage shot with its Avata

DJI is offering creators up to $10,000 for their best sports and adventure videos shot with the Avata 360 drone. According to a report from DroneDJ, the company's new #AllForPassion Challenge has a total prize pool that includes one $10,000 grand prize, two $5,000 runner-up prizes, and five $1,000 third-place awards.
The contest is open for submissions until September 30, 2026. Winners are scheduled to be announced on October 28.
Contest Rules and Submission
Participants must film sports or action content using the DJI Avata 360 drone. Eligible activities listed by DJI include hiking, mountain biking, surfing, skiing, climbing, football, and swimming, though virtually any sport showcasing movement is acceptable.
Creators must add the official "DJI AVATA 360 | ALL FOR PASSION" watermark to their video and publish it on Instagram, YouTube, Facebook, or TikTok. The required hashtags are #allforpassion, #djiavata, and #avata360. To formally enter, participants must email their submission link to DJI at global-creator@dji.com with the platform, post link, and publication date. There is no limit on the number of entries a single creator can submit.
Judging and the Avata 360 Platform
DJI states that entries will be judged on three criteria: video quality, creativity, and influence. The company notes this means a well-made, original video could compete with entries from creators who have larger audiences.
The contest also serves to highlight the capabilities of the Avata 360, DJI's immersive FPV platform. Unlike traditional drones, the Avata 360 records full 360-degree footage. This allows creators to reframe shots in post-production, a feature DJI says is valuable for fast-moving sports where direction changes instantly. The drone combines flight stabilization with FPV flying and includes features like obstacle sensing and intelligent stabilization.
Rights and Requirements
DJI notes that participants retain the copyright to their submitted videos. However, by entering the competition, creators grant DJI a worldwide, perpetual license to use, edit, and share the content for promotional purposes, with attribution. All videos must comply with applicable laws, avoid infringing on third-party rights, and meet DJI's community standards.
Drone filmmaking contests have grown in popularity as manufacturers encourage users to showcase product capabilities. For creators with summer adventures planned, the contest offers a chance to earn prize money while gaining exposure across social media platforms.
