Vision Aerial Begins Production of US-Made
Vision Aerial has started production of its new Vulcan SX drone and opened preorders for the Vulcan YX. The Montana-based manufacturer projects significant revenue growth as it prepares for acquisition by Mobix Labs.

Vision Aerial has begun manufacturing its new Vulcan SX drone and is now accepting preorders for the larger Vulcan YX model. The Montana-based company announced the production start while operating independently ahead of its expected acquisition by Mobix Labs later this year.
Both drones are designed and assembled at the company's headquarters in Bozeman, Montana. Vision Aerial emphasizes NDAA compliance and domestic manufacturing for its new platforms, which are intended for commercial and government use.
Vulcan Drone Specifications and Availability
The two new drones share a common architecture but differ in their capabilities. The company developed them after years of feedback from enterprise operators who requested longer flight times, higher payload capacity, and secure, US-built aircraft.
Vision Aerial president Shawn Roberts stated the drones were a direct response to operator needs. "Vulcan came from years of listening to the people who fly our aircraft for a living," Roberts said. "We build everything here in Bozeman, and what operators are telling us about these two platforms says the market wants exactly that: serious payload, real flight time, American-made."
Strategic Acquisition and Market Position
The launch coincides with Vision Aerial's pending acquisition by Nasdaq-listed Mobix Labs. That deal, expected to close in the fourth quarter of 2026, is aimed at expanding Mobix Labs beyond defense electronics into complete American-made autonomous aerial systems.
For Mobix Labs, known for supplying RF and sensing technologies for military and commercial aircraft, the acquisition represents a move to offer full systems rather than just components. If completed, Vision Aerial would become a key part of that strategy, bringing an established US drone manufacturing operation and the new Vulcan family under the Mobix umbrella.
Vision Aerial already serves customers including the US Navy, USDA Forest Service, L3Harris, and several major utility and energy companies. The company believes these relationships provide a strong launchpad for the Vulcan family, especially as demand grows for secure drone platforms manufactured outside China.
Projected Financial Growth
Company management has projected aggressive revenue growth following the Vulcan launch. They estimate an approximate 46% increase in revenue for 2026, followed by a further 93% rise in 2027.
If achieved, the company's 2027 revenue would be nearly three times its 2025 level. The company notes, however, that these are unaudited management estimates and actual results could vary based on production schedules, customer demand, delivery timing, market conditions, and the successful completion of the Mobix Labs transaction.
The Vulcan drones are built for demanding missions such as infrastructure inspection, energy operations, public safety, and national security applications.
