Airbility Debuts Counter-Drone Interceptor Lineup at MSPO
South Korea's Airbility introduced its integrated air-to-air counter-UAS interceptor portfolio at the MSPO defense exhibition in Poland, targeting European

South Korean aerospace firm Airbility has debuted its full counter-unmanned aircraft system (counter-UAS) interceptor lineup in Europe. The company showed the technology at the MSPO 2026 defense exhibition in Kielce, Poland, from September 8 to 11.
Airbility presented a mission-tiered family of interceptors designed to operate within a single kill chain. The portfolio aims to address the cost asymmetry in air defense, where expensive missiles are often used against low-cost drones. The company exhibited alongside Korean detection specialist Dymstec, whose ARBITER system provides the initial detection layer.
The Interceptor Lineup
The company displayed four distinct interceptor models at the show. Each is designed for a specific defensive role.
| Model | Type | Primary Role |
|---|---|---|
| AB-U2 | Compact kinetic interceptor | Close-in point defense |
| AB-U4L | Launcher-deployed interceptor | Rapid response against drone swarms |
| AB-U10 | Net-gun interceptor | Capturing hostile drones with minimal collateral damage |
| AB-U60 | Mothership platform | Carrying and deploying smaller interceptors |
European Market Context
The European debut comes amid heightened regional demand. Poland and its Eastern European neighbors have faced repeated drone incursions since the war in Ukraine. This has made counter-drone capability an urgent procurement priority. MSPO is one of Europe's three largest defense exhibitions, drawing around 800 companies and delegations from over 40 countries.
Taegyu Ryu, co-CEO of Airbility, commented on the market need. "Europe has faced low-cost drone threats on a near-daily basis since the war in Ukraine, yet economically viable means of intercepting them remain scarce," Ryu said. The company believes its integrated detect-to-defeat architecture meets this urgent demand.
Company Momentum and Funding
Airbility's appearance at MSPO follows a period of significant activity. Earlier in September 2026, the company closed a $4.7 million Series A funding round led by Silicon Valley's Sazze Partners. This brings its total funding to $7.6 million.
The proceeds are earmarked for commercializing the counter-UAS portfolio. Airbility targets commercial availability for the AB-U10 net-gun interceptor by the end of 2026. The AB-U2 and AB-U4L models are slated for the first half of 2027. Funds will also support production infrastructure and global certification efforts.
Technology Validation and Outreach
In December 2025, Airbility completed transition-flight demonstrations across three prototype aircraft. These tests validated the flight-control logic and system integration for its high-speed eVTOL platform. The company, founded in November 2023, is now engaged in commercial discussions with potential partners in more than nine countries. These include nations in the Middle East, Southeast Asia, and Latin America.
The company's core technology combines optimized eVTOL geometries with distributed electric fanjet propulsion and modular hybrid-energy systems. Airbility is currently in commercial discussions with counterparties across multiple regions.
