SkyeBrowse Crowd Counter Drone People Counting Real-Time

SkyeBrowse has introduced Crowd Counter, an AI-powered workflow that estimates the number of people visible in aerial images captured by drones. The tool is designed for event safety, emergency response, and general situational awareness, providing a count within seconds after an image is taken from the drone. This eliminates the need to land, pull imagery, and send it to another computer for analysis, allowing for immediate use of data while crews are still operating in the field. A pilot can simply take a photo and receive an estimated count of people visible in it.

Features and Access

Crowd Counter is available in the SkyeBrowse Flight App on the DJI RC Pro for enterprise drone operations. It is also accessible through SkyeBrowse’s web app. Users without a Public Safety & Enterprise plan get three free crowd counts per day through the controller. Public Safety & Enterprise customers receive unlimited counts via Crowd Counter.

SkyeBrowse has also rolled out two new AI-powered workflows: Crush Analysis and Claims, designed for vehicle crash investigations and insurance work. Crush Analysis is free across all SkyeBrowse plans through October 31, 2026, after which it becomes part of Public Safety & Enterprise models.

The tool allows users to identify a damaged vehicle by year, make, model, trim, VIN, or license plate. SkyeBrowse can read a license plate from scan imagery. It then generates a catalog-accurate 3D reference of the specific vehicle and aligns it with the captured 3D model. Crush Analysis measures crush depth across six stations, labeled C1 through C6, and calculates collision metrics including barrier-equivalent delta-V and Collision Deformation Classification code. Measurements on the 3D model allow reconstructionists to inspect exactly where measurements came from.

SkyeBrowse’s Claims workflow can analyze up to eight photographs. It identifies parts that may need replacement, repair, or inspection, providing a repair-cost pre-screen. The tool also checks a claim against state total-loss rules across all 50 states and Washington, DC. SkyeBrowse said: "The company is careful to describe that last feature as a triage aid, rather than a final insurance decision." Licensed adjusters and individual policy terms determine the actual insurance outcome.

Workflow Integration

These tools are part of SkyeBrowse’s broader Investigate option, which guides users through crash facts, vehicle identification, damage analysis, and claim review. The workflow flags steps that still need a person’s review and asks before running paid AI features. SkyeBrowse generates a downloadable PDF report with crash measurements, and results remain available in the 3D viewer for inspection by another reconstructionist. The guided Investigate workflow extends ease of use to crash review by showing users the next step and identifying where human judgment is still needed.

Users on non-enterprise plans receive three free crowd counts per day through the controller, while Public Safety & Enterprise customers get unlimited counts via Crowd Counter.
