Teledyne FLIR Launches Prism A-ISR AI Detection Software
Teledyne FLIR has launched Prism A-ISR, an AI software module for real-time air-to-ground detection and tracking on drones and ISR platforms, announced on October 6.

Teledyne FLIR has launched Prism A-ISR, an AI-powered software module for real-time detection, classification, and tracking of ground objects from uncrewed aircraft and airborne ISR platforms. The company announced the embedded software on October 6. It is designed for uncrewed aircraft systems and other airborne intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance platforms. The software processes data from midwave infrared, longwave infrared, and visible electro-optical sensors. It performs this processing at the edge, allowing airborne systems to analyze sensor data without relying on remote computing resources. Prism A-ISR tracks multiple targets at once.
Technical advantages and performance features
The software uses edge processing, patented denoise and super-resolution technology, and multi-sensor fusion to improve image quality, extend detection range, and reduce bandwidth and false alarms in degraded visual conditions. Electronic stabilization and dehaze algorithms aim to improve image quality and extend detection range. Teledyne FLIR says its patented denoise and super-resolution technology improves signal quality while reducing bandwidth requirements. The software is optimized for NVIDIA and Qualcomm embedded AI platforms.
Mission applications and flexibility
Prism A-ISR supports multi-target tracking for persistent surveillance, force protection, and defense autonomy. Jared Faraudo, Vice President of Product Management at Teledyne FLIR OEM, stated, "The software supports multi-target detection and tracking for mission applications requiring persistent surveillance, force protection, defense autonomy, and actionable mission intelligence." Updated mission models can be generated in days rather than weeks via the AIMMGen synthetic model-training service for custom target classes. This capability allows system developers to tailor detection models for different missions without lengthy retraining cycles.
Compatibility and ecosystem integration
The module works with Teledyne FLIR’s Boson+ and Neutrino thermal camera families and select third-party EO and IR sensors. It runs on NVIDIA and Qualcomm embedded AI platforms common in defense systems. The Boson+ and Neutrino thermal camera families are compliant with the National Defense Authorization Act.
Portfolio context and upcoming demonstration
Prism A-ISR joins other products in the company’s Prism portfolio, including Prism C-UAS for counter-drone applications and Prism Ground ISR. Together, the software products provide perception and image-processing capabilities for systems including UAS, ground surveillance platforms, and automatic target recognition applications. Teledyne FLIR will demonstrate Prism A-ISR at booth 6013 at the Association of the United States Army Annual Meeting in Washington, D.C., October 12-14, 2026.
