DJI Avata firmware update brings version 01.06.0000
DJI has released firmware version 01.06.0000 for the Avata drone, its first update in nearly three years, focusing on bug fixes for the aircraft and its compatible accessories.

DJI has released a new firmware update for the DJI Avata drone, bringing it to version 01.06.0000. This is the first update for the aircraft, which launched in 2022, in nearly three years.
The update focuses on resolving bugs rather than adding new capabilities. DJI said the release notes simply state that the software fixes some known issues. The company published the new firmware for the original DJI Avata on October 20, 2026, updating it from the previous version, v01.05.0000, which was dated December 28, 2023.
Update details and compatible accessories
The firmware update moves the aircraft to v01.06.0000 and includes the DJI Fly app version 1.21.16 for iOS and Android. It is compatible with several DJI accessories, five of which received new version numbers. Two accessories, the DJI FPV Goggles V2 and the original Motion Controller, remained on their existing firmware versions.
| Component | New Firmware Version |
|---|---|
| DJI Avata Aircraft | v01.06.0000 |
| DJI Goggles 2 | v01.14.0000 |
| DJI Goggles Integra | v01.10.0000 |
| DJI RC Motion 2 | v01.08.0000 |
| DJI FPV Remote Controller 2 | v02.00.1100 |
| DJI FPV Goggles V2 | v01.07.0000 (unchanged) |
| Original DJI Motion Controller | v02.00.0700 (unchanged) |
The Goggles 2 and Goggles Integra have also supported the newer Avata 2 model since May 2024. DJI used an identical changelog sentence for three separate Avata 360 releases in 2026, simply noting it fixed some known issues.
DJI Avata specifications and features
The Avata is a compact FPV drone. Its camera features a 1/1.7-inch CMOS sensor capable of 12-megapixel stills. It offers a 155-degree field of view and records video at up to 4K resolution and 60 frames per second. For slow-motion footage, it supports 2.7K and 1080p video at up to 120fps.
Flight modes and performance
The drone offers pilots three distinct flight modes. These modes provide different speed ceilings to suit various skill levels and flying environments.
| Flight Mode | Maximum Speed |
|---|---|
| Normal | 8 meters per second |
| Sport | 14 meters per second |
| Manual | 27 meters per second |
Under ideal conditions, the Avata's flight time is approximately 18 minutes. Its last new feature arrived in March 2023, and it saw six firmware releases in its first 16 months on the market.
Stabilization and safety features
Electronic image stabilization is handled by RockSteady and HorizonSteady technologies. These systems work to keep footage smooth during dynamic flight. For physical protection, the drone comes with integrated propeller guards designed to shield the props during incidental contact with objects.
DJI recommends users restart their aircraft, remote controller, and goggles after installing the new firmware. The update may reset certain flight settings, including the Return-to-Home altitude and maximum flight distance. Users are advised to verify these settings both before and after updating.
